Obituary for Regina Ursula Ortega

Monte Vista- Long time Monte Vista resident Regina Ursula Ortega, 80, passed away on May 6, 2015. She was born December 21, 1934 to Ronoldo and Teresina Sisneros in Del Norte, Colorado. Later in life she married Felix Ortega and had many happy years together until his passing in 2005.
Regina loved spending time with her friends and family. She especially loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and could make just about anything from scratch. When she wasn’t cooking you could usually find her at the local bingo hall or passing the time in the closest casino. Regina was also very active in St Josephs Catholic Church, she was part of the St. Marthas society and would help prepare meals for all occasions and do anything else she could to try to help and volunteer with the program.
She is survived by her children Donald (Janet) Martinez of Monte Vista, Colorado; John Martinez of Englewood, Colorado, Alex Gomez of Denver, Colorado, Vincent (Lupita) Ortega of Center, Colorado, Eugene (Yolanda) Ortega of Monte Vista, Colorado, Arnold Ortega of Grand Junction, Colorado, Jessica Ortega of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dario (Jennifer) Ortega of Espanola, New Mexico. As well as 26 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Regina was preceded in death by her loving husband, Felix Ortega. Her Parents; Ronoldo and Teresina Sisneros. Her sister, Margaret Chacon. And her son, Robert Martinez.
A viewing at Rogers Funeral Chapel in Monte Vista for family and friends is scheduled from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday May 10, 2015. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday May 10 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at St Josephs Catholic Church in Monte Vista. With memorial Mass being held Monday May 11 beginning at 10:00 A.M. also at St Josephs Catholic Church with interment to follow at Homelake Veterans Cemetery.
