Obituary for Dorothy Clara Northrip (Gallardo)

Antonito - Longtime Antonito resident Dorothy Clara Northrip, 85, passed away on December 10, 2015. She was born on February 23, 1930 in Manassa, Colorado to Carlos Gallardo and Gravelita Mary Romero Gallardo. She married John Henry Northrip on May 10, 1958 and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Denver Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints and held many callings. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, outdoor activities, riding in the truck on trips with her husband, being with family and friends, she enjoyed her flowers, crocheting blankets for her family, line dancing and loved her pets and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

Dorothy is survived by her son Nathan Northrip of Antonito, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, her siblings Vangie Marston of Colorado, Theresa Meastas of Utah and Everly Gallardo of New Mexico as well as numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter Linda Northrip.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at the Manassa 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa on Monday evening December 14, 2015 and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Primary room at the church before the service on Tuesday. Interment will follow services in the Manassa Cemetery.
