Alamosa – Alamosa resident Robert “Bob” Paul Toogood, 88, passed away on March 29, 2016 in Alamosa.

Bob was born on September 28, 1927 in Pueblo, Colorado to Paul Eber and Elizabeth Griffith Toogood. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. On January 28, 1951 he married the love of his life Jacque Saunders in Alamosa, Colorado. Bob worked as a mechanic for many years and he enjoyed what he did. He was a lifetime member of the Alamosa Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Alamosa First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, working on his cars, Mexican food, Big Macs, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children; Cindy (Mike) Goldsworthy of Alamosa, Nola (Cliff) Heide of Alamosa and Paul Toogood of Fountain, Colorado. His grandchildren; Chad McNulty, Erika (Mike) Henderson, Ryan Goldsworthy, Ben Goldsworthy, Kyle Toogood (Rita Mays), Melanie Heide, Logan Heide and Jadyn Toogood and his great-grandson, Luke Henderson. Also surviving is his sister Marge (Emmett) Seal, his brothers-in-law Leonard King and Al King as well as two nephews and extended family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jacque, his daughter-in-law Kanda Toogood, his sisters, Betsy King and Virginia King, and his brother, Herbert Toogood.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Alamosa First United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in the Alamosa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Legion or VFW both of Alamosa and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
