James Lloyd  Aldridge
James L. Aldridge, 70, of Monte Vista, Colorado, passed away Saturday, April 16th, 2016 at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colorado.

Jim was born July 20th, 1945 in Braymer, Missouri to Preston Aldridge and Irma Cox. Jim married Rita Brown on August 25, 1972 in Denver, Colorado. Following his military service in the U.S. Army, Jim worked for Adolph Coors Brewing Company for 33 years. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Monte Vista and an active member of the Monte Vista Kiwanis. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing games with family, and ‘tinkering’ in general. He took great pride in his family, never knew a stranger and was a gentle man with a heart of gold.

He is survived by his wife Rita, his children Rhonda (Rob) Glover and Roger (Michelle) Maggard, his grandchildren Christi Krattli, Dan Glover and Alex Glover, his great-grandchildren Maia Krattli and Kylee Krattli, and his siblings Fran (Ed) Sorrell of Tucson, AZ, Dwayne (Ruth) Aldridge of Alamosa, Gary Aldridge of Apache Junction, AZ, Carolyn (Tony) Owensby of Mesa, AZ, Stan (Kathy) Aldridge of Monte Vista, Debra (Patrick) Romero of Pueblo West, Colorado, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Ronald Aldridge and Kenny Aldridge, and his sisters Dixie Spencer and Ruby Aldridge.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 22, 2016 at the Monte Vista Cemetery. Contributions in his memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to Children’s Hospital and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
