Bud Tolsma was peacefully taken Home by his Saviour on August 16, 2016. He was born to John and Jennie Tolsma on May 7, 1926 in Alamosa.
He is joined in Glory with loved ones who predeceased him: his parents, a son Duane, granddaughter Christine, two sisters Jan and Martha, and a brother Andy.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, of 63 years, Louise. Also by his children: Rod (Jane), Kathy, Ella (Russell), Joel, Ed (Melanie), his sister Wilma Etter, 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Bud served his country in the Korean War. He was a faithful member of the Alamosa Christian Reformed Church having served as Council Member and Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the San Luis Valley Gideon Camp, always enjoying sharing what God is doing throughout the world. The family expresses their sincere thanks and appreciation for the care Bud received at the San Luis Care Center. Bud leaves a lasting heritage of farming in Waverly Community.
There will be a viewing at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa on Thursday, August 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday morning at 9:00 A.M. there will be a committal service at the Alamosa Cemetery, with military honors. A memorial service will be held at the Alamosa Christian Reformed Church at 11:00 A.M.
