Obituary for Judith Marie Freeark

Judith (Judy) Marie Freeark, Nee Gibson, 75, was born in lndependence, Missouri on October 21, 1940, the sixth daughter of Ardith and Kenneth Gibson. She graduated from William Crisman High School in lndependence and attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri, where she met her future husband, Prof. Clayton Wayne Freeark. They were married in Marshall on May 12, 1961. Judy
graduated in 1962 and began work as a medical technologist at the Ellis Fishel State Cancer Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Two children were born of their union, Diana Marie in 1967 and Justin Wayne in 1969. There are a total of four grandchildren: Rachel and Eric Lindquist by Diana and Grant and Jillian Freeark by Justin. There are no grandchildren. Judy is survived by her husband, Wayne, offspring Diana and Justin and the
grandchildren. There are three surviving brothers and three sisters, two having preceded her in death, as have her parents.

Professionally, Judy was a certified Histotechnologist, one of the first one hundred in the nation. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and the culinary arts, at all of which she excelled.

Judy left us on September 22,2O16, a victim of cancer. She had a lifelong fear of being buried alive and was, therefore, cremated. A memorial will be held for her at 10:00 a.m. on July 15, 2O17, at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. (The late date was chosen in deference to the ages of many who might wish to attend, but who live at a distance and find winter travel daunting at best.) Rogers Family
Mortuary is in care of the arrangements. To leave online condolences, tributes and remarks, please visit www.RogersFunerals.com

The family wishes to thank all those who have expressed their condolences and those who have
provided support and counsel during these sad times. A special thanks to the staff of Hospice del Valle who made Judy's last days comfortable and who helped me through the worst of the ordeal.
