Eddie “Goog” Pacheco peacefully passed away January 5, 2017 surrounded by his family at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood CO at the age of 77. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Monte Vista, CO.

Eddie "Goog" is preceded in death by his birth mother, Leontina Lujan, his parents Antonio and Hortancia Pacheco, his brothers; Augustine Ross Pacheco and John Martinez as well as his beloved furry friends.

Eddie is survived by his wife Joyce Pacheco of 58 years. They were High School Sweethearts and Eddie Good referred to her as “the love of his life”. When asked what was the key to such a long love story, they both would reply, communication and never go to bed mad.

Eddie "Goog" is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce Pacheco of Monte Vista CO, his children; Michael Pacheco (Tana Pacheco) of Littleton CO, Denise Canaday (James Canaday) of Brighton CO, and Monique Pfannenstiel (Eric Pfannenstiel) of Monte Vista CO; His 13 grandchildren; Holly Booker (William Booker) of Brighton CO, Matt Barbosa of Commerce City CO, Ashley Pacheco of Pembroke, NH, Curt Barbosa (Jessica Barbosa) of Del Norte CO, Samantha Lopez (Carlos Lopez) of Monte Vista CO, Lindsay Meredith (Brian Meredith) of Alamosa CO, Dominic Pacheco of Littleton CO, Emily Pfannenstiel of Centennial CO, Marisa Pacheco of Durango CO, Tyler Pfannenstiel of Monte Vista CO, Chase Pacheco of Littleton CO, Dawni Canaday of Durango and Bree Canaday of Mountain Home, Arkansas. His 13 Great-Grandchildren; Michelle Booker, William Booker Jr, Brendan Clark, Avery Clark, Oakley Sisneros, Reese Sisneros, Brooklyn Booker, Ryann Barbosa, Miles Lavoie, Greylen Lopez, Sophie Lavoie, Diesel Barbosa and Easton Lopez. His Sisters; Agnes Hannah (John Hannah) of Parker, CO; Jackie Pacheco (Greg Brumley) of Monte Vista and Eva Sapp of Magna, UT. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and too many friends to count.

Eddie was born in Monte Vista Co on Feb 19, 1939. He graduated from Sargent High School in 1958 and went on to Adams State College to further his education. He was well known in the valley for being a “Pump Master”, working for M&G Drilling, R.E.C., Burk Drilling and later to own his own business, Eddie’s Pump Service. If you had a well issue, you knew to call Eddie Pacheco!

Eddie enjoyed fishing, reading, painting, rosary & jewelry making, motocross, camping, 4-wheeling, carpentry – but most of all INVENTING. Eddie Goog could fix anything, even if it wasn’t broken. You could always see the “wheels” turning on how to make things just a little bit better.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 11th at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista The rosary for Eddie will be held Wednesday, evening at 7:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monte Vista. The mass of Catholic Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monte Vista on Thursday, January 12th at 10:00am with Father Mike from Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Interment to follow at Monte Vista Cemetery. The family invites you to the Celebration of Life reception/meal at The Church of the Nazarene recreation hall at 1pm. Flowers can be sent to Rogers Family Mortuary at 404 Morris Street in Monte Vista.
