The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Gray can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: PAUL HERMAN
Condolence: Dear Betty and Family, My prayer for you is that God will comfort you at this time of loss. It was my personal and professional privilege and pleasure to work with Jim as a Trustee and President of the Lutheran Hospital Association of the San Luis Valley while I was the Chief Exeutive Officer. During his years of service Alamosa Community Hospital became the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center, the 3-story North Wing of Hospital was constructed, including the Alamosa County Ambulance Garage and rooftop helicopter landing pad, the Regional Medical Center was named a "Top 100 Hospital" in the United States, the First Street Medical Office Building was built, and the Medical Staff and Hospital Staff was greatly increased to meet the healthcare needs of the San Luis Valley. Jim was always Gentleman Servant as he made the San Luis Valley a better place to live. He set the bar very high. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Paul Herman

Condolence: James Gray came regularly to deliver donations from his church to the Food Bank in Alamosa. He was always so kind. I am sure that is only a small part of all he did for the community, but it was always noticed and appreciated. My sincere sympathy to his family on his passing.
