The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Isaac Martinez can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Sylvia Lobato
Condolence: Ike was one of my heroes. He was also one of the people I photographed whenever I covered patriotic events. Isaac was always there, with the quiet dignity of someone had seen war, peace, love and loss and still loved his country. I will miss him so much.

Condolence From: Celina Lujan Romero
Condolence: Sincere and loving Condolences from Issac's cousin, Celina Lujan Romero (age 96) and her family. As first cousins, Issac and Celina spent much time together and shared many special memories during their early years at their grandparents' home in CaƱon, Colorado. (Grandparents: Juan Francisco and Eduvijen Abeyta Montoya, also known as "Mama Grande"). Later Issac and Celina played together while visiting Tia Eloisa and Tio Simon in Monte Vista, then later during visits in Brighton, CO. Their families were very close and Celina feels saddened by the loss of her cousin.

Condolence: I am sorry for the loss of this man, "Ike", known by everyone in Monte Vista. I remember him when I was a child shopping with my grandmother, I remember him helping me when I had my kids with me at the store. Always fun and ever so kind and helpful. It was a blessing in my life to have known him as little as I did. I remember walking past the house one day when I had our grandson that was visiting us. Blond little guy, almost Danish looking, big blue eyes, almost white hair, huge smile for a 3 year old. Ike saw us, came to the fence, we visited a bit then he reached into his pocket and pulled an apple out for our grandson. He teased a little, smiled big and handed the apple over. Our Grandson looked at me for the go ahead then turned to Ike and said "Thank you", do you have for my gramma"? Ike really got a giggle out of that. Ike was and is a treasure. We have been lucky to have known this man. Heaven will not be the same now, Ike is home. ;)
God bless all of you that was related to him. A good man.

Condolence From: Juanita Martinez
Condolence: Dear Peggy, Ron, and Jackie,
My most heart-felt condolences. My hermano was not only my brother but my hero. I am blessed that he was able to visit me so many times these past few years. Jay and I always said when he was here that Ike's wish was our command. I will miss these visits. My prayer is that our Heavenly Father will bring you strength and comfort. We were fortunate to have had such a blessing in our lives. Thank you, God, for the gift of "Ike." Love you all so much.
Aunt Juanita
