Obituary for Bertha Trujillo (Romero)

Alamosa resident Bertha Trujillo, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on March 17, 2017.

Bertha was born on September 13, 1936 in Conejos, Colorado the proud daughter of Rafael A. and Rosanna Chacon Romero. She was united in marriage to Dr. Luis M. Trujillo in Conejos, Colorado on August 18, 1956. He preceded her in death in July, 2006. Bertha was an elementary school teacher for the Alamosa School District.

Bertha is survived by Mike (Linda) Trujillo, Mark and Christine; James (Nicole) Trujillo, Tori and Jessica; Tanya Trujillo, Brandon; Cecilia (Eddy) Trujillo, Natalie Rose; Laura (Ken) Schell, Kenny, Kyle, Krystal; a beloved Aunt Adela Romero; and her lifetime friend Nellie Vialpando.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dr. Luis Trujillo and her son Eddy Trujillo.

Cremation was chosen and a Private Graveside Committal of Ashes will be held at a later date in the Alamosa Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Hospice del Valle or to a local animal shelter in her memory.
