Obituary for Marivel Linda Chairez
Fort Garland resident Marivel Chairez, 27, passed away on April 13, 2017. She was born on August 7, 1989 to Manuel and Cathy Chairez in Alamosa, Colorado. She loved reading books, especially Harry Potter, cooking, listening to music, going to concerts and enjoyed being outside.
Marivel is survived by her husband Brian Rost of Fort Garland, her daughter, Emma Jo Rost, her parents Manuel and Cathy Chairez, her siblings, Micaela (Sean Janda) Chairez, Louie (Ginnie) Chairez, Isiah Chairez, Miguel Chairez and Manuel Chairez, her aunts and uncles, Joey (Marian) Montoya of Fort Garland, Dave (Yayu) Montoya of Fort Garland, Carolyn (Gary) Cucarola of Denver, Robert (Donna) Montoya of Denver and Terry Montoya of Denver, her grandparents, Joe and Orlinda Montoya of Fort Garland and Emilia Puentes of Juarez, Mexico, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Norma and Bob Mount as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Louis Chairez.
A Funeral Mass is schedule for 1:00 pm on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at the Holy Family Catholic Mission in Fort Garland, Colorado. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening also at the church. Burial will follow services in the Fort Garland Community Cemetery.
