Patricia (Pat) A McKinley 83 passed away on April 25, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Franklin, Nebraska on October 11, 1933 to Maurice & Marian
(Versaw) Thompson. She grew up in Nebraska & moved to Colorado with her parents.
She graduated from Saguache High School. She then went on to became an X-ray tech
and worked in hospitals in Colorado & California.

She met and married her husband William R McKinley on April 17, 1955 in Raton, New Mexico.
She was a true farmer’s rancher’s wife, working side by side with her husband in the Mosca area.
They raised and cared for livestock including hogs, sheep and goats. She worked in the fields driving
tractors, running the windrower, and baling hay.

She cared for her family from canning peaches & pears to sewing their clothes including western
shirts and patching many pairs of overalls and jeans. She also enjoyed quilting. She always had a garden and beautiful flower gardens. Pat was an excellent cook and was known for her homemade bread, pies, and cakes. Everyone was welcome at her table. After selling the farm, she was an avid reader, sharing books with her good friend Leona Edwards.

She is survived by her son Bill (Rhonda) McKinley of Alamosa, CO, daughters Dianne McKinley
of LaJunta, Co, Mary(Scott) Aken of Hilo, HI. Three grandchildren Allen (Nikki) McKinley of Fruita,Co,
Adam (Katty) McKinley of Peoria, IL, Lacy (Josh) McKinley of Boulder, CO. Four great grandchildren
Cort, Zayden, Kiarra Jo and Kimberlee. Two sisters Sandra(Mark) Bodley of Los Banos, Calif, Joyce
(Tom) Muhic Pueblo, CO and sister in law Sarah Thompson of Bayfield, CO, numerous cousins,
nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill in 2008, her brother Ronald Thompson,
and niece Tamara Muhic.

She was the center of her family and she loved being a Mom & grandmother.

A graveside service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to Hospice Del Valle 514 Main, Alamosa, Colorado 81101.
