Longtime valley resident Mario Chavez-Villareal, 62, passed away on July 3, 2017. He was born on May 25, 1955 in Chihuahua, Mexico. He enjoyed going to the mountains, spending time with his family and grandkids and was a very generous person.

He is survived by his daughters, Anjel (Charles) Benskin of Alamosa and Trina Chavez of Fort Garland, his grandchildren, Drake Chavez, Wilfredo Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Fabricio Benskin, Christina Sanchez, Domonique Martinez and Antonio Benskin, his God Children, Marcos Martinez, Adrian Martinez, Denzel Martinez.

Mario Was preceded in death by his son, Froylan “Doni” Chavez, mother of his children, Destiny Chavez and his granddaughter Latina Sanchez.
