Obituary for David Buckley

Longtime Alamosa resident David Allen Buckley, 70, passed away on July 4, 2017. He was born on April 14, 1947 in Alamosa, Colorado to John and Mary Swafford Buckley. David was a graduate of Alamosa High School. Following his High School graduation, he joined the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was also a Purple Heart recipient, during his time of service. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads and elk sheds, he was an avid outdoorsman, working on his house and was the patriarch of his family.

David is survived by his children, Wendy Buckley and David Buckley, his grandchildren, David Allen Buckley III and Janine Spring, his great grandchild, Amara Tharpe, his sisters, Shelly Porrello, Midge James, Donna Waters, his nieces and nephews, Sean Studer, Jack Buckley, Kevin Buckley, Ryan Buckley, Tyler Buckley, Raymond Porrello, and Erica Porrello as well as his special friend Jamo Miera.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Aaron Buckley, sisters, Brenda Buckley and Jeanie Duncan, daughter Rebecca Buckley, his nephew Kevan James and great niece Sandi Noble.

Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at the Alamosa Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Weber Drive in Alamosa.
