Obituary for Carolyn Mell Deeg (Allison)

Monte Vista, Colorado resident Carolyn Mell Allison Deeg, 86, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Mosca, Colorado on July 11, 2017.

Carolyn was born in Rockdale, Texas on March 9, 1931, the daughter of Carroll Houston “C.H.” Allison and Jessie Mell Luckey Allison. She married Charles Owen “Rusty” Deeg, Jr. on November 11th, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1993. She lived much of her adult life in the Hill Country of Texas including many years in Boerne.

Carolyn was a Massage Therapist and loved her work as well as the healing properties of this endeavor. She was very health-minded and dedicated her whole life to the pursuit of good health through eating well and taking care of her body. In her spare time, she could be found working in her vegetable garden. Carolyn was also a professionally trained seamstress and enjoyed knitting many baby blankets over the years. She dearly loved her family and had a strong faith in God.

Carolyn is survived by her children Lou Mell (Art) Goehl of Montrose, CO, Will Deeg of Maui, Hawaii, and Sarah (Ron) Stoeber of Mosca, CO; her grandchildren: Jessica (Kendal) Adolph, Teresa (James) Salyards, Anna (Jaycee) Lopez, Erinn Hiner, Guy (Teresa) Hiner, Ariel (Jamie) Deeg-Walsh, Zoe (Chris) Salcedo, Sydney Johnson, Nicole Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Lisa Stoeber and Mari Stoeber; her sister Sallie Jenkins of Glen Rose, Texas; she also had 7 step grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandsons and nieces and nephews Earlyn (Rick) Gunn, Dawn (Mark) Spenrath, and Wayne Jenkins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her niece Debbie Jenkins Kenna and her grandson Seth Stoeber.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. at the Rio Grande Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Saturday, July 15th, 2017. Interment will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 in the Boerne Cemetery in Boerne, Texas.
