Longtime Sanford resident Mark Howard Crowther, 71, passed away at the Joni Fair Hospice House in Pueblo, Colorado, surrounded by family on Monday, August 28, 2017.

Mark’s life began on September 27, 1945 in Alamosa, Colorado, the proud son of Howard W Crowther and La Von Fauntel Mortensen Crowther. Mark married Marlene Crowther on July 12, 1968 in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a church mission in Southern Australia from 1965-1967 and held several different church callings including High Priest Group leader, was in the Bishopric, and up until his death was serving as an Ordinance Worker in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Temple. Mark also served on the Sanford School Board for two terms and belonged to various community organizations. He was a leader of the Lone Riders 4-H horse club for many years.

He loved to read in his spare time. Mark will be remembered as never knowing a stranger.
