The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Doris Moore can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Mrs. Moore was such an influence in my life when growing up in Alamosa. I shared this with Linda recently. She really did spark my interest in science. I'm so grateful to have had her as a teacher in Alamosa. My condolences to your family.

Condolence: Moore Family
I read about your Mom’s passing. It is tough to lose a Mom, I am thinking you guys.
Mrs. Moore was one of those rare people that change lives. I was a lost high school kid when I started in her chemistry class in Monte, 1970. Nearing Thanksgiving, I was failing many (or all) of my classes. My folks were uncertain on how to deal with this teenage mess. My Mom went to see Mrs. Moore and they figured out a way to reach me. I can’t remember exactly what they did, too many years since then But it worked. By the end of the semester, I had brought my grade from F up to a B. The story in my other classes was the same, all passing. The spring semester I got an A in chemistry!
The change in me wasn’t just in class. Your Mom was producing the senior plays at that time. She convinced a very shy kid to try out for the play. I recall my character spoke just one word But the experience of being in a play, interacting with classmates really helped a sly kid start to come out of his shell.
Later, I attended Adams State, majoring in Environmental Chemistry. Taking chemistry from Dr. Watkins, I remember how easy it was compared to your Mom’s class I also had organic chemistry from your Dad, his class was a bit tougher!
Over the years I have tried to pass on your Mom’s love of learning, teaching my kids, their friends and many others about science. Our kitchen table and backyard has been the scene of many “experiments”!

Condolence: I'm sure Pauline is in Franks loving arms. Growing up in Alamosa and having someone treat me like a Grandmother was just part of life. I could run out my parents back door, climb over the fence, run down the alley, and jump another fence to make it to the Moors's back door to eat apples, play with their dog, and just hangout with them are wonderful memories that I hold dear. The countless lives Pauline and Frank have changed by their teaching and loving interactions with church members are un-calculable. Pauline demonstrated in her life that she had immense intellectual abilities, personal strength, organizational skills, but most importantly immense love and forgiveness. To be truly loved by someone is humbling. Condolence to Linda, Frank, and Mary. Love, David

Condolence: We will miss this lady "Mrs. Moore" a lot. She was one of my teachers in high school (and that is why "Mrs. Moore"), and had a great influence on my life (I became a school teacher). I introduced her to my wife Stephanie, who also found her to be a wonderful person. Bless her and all of her family, we will miss her but know she is in good hands.

Condolence: I grew up in Alamosa, Colorado just a few houses away from the Moore's. They were good family friends. I have many fond memories of Pauline and the rest of the Moore family, and I always loved being in their home. I will miss Pauline. May the peace of the Lord be with her family. -- Larry Childs
