Condolence: I just found out 2 days ago about his passing. He was a teacher of mine at West High from 1997 to 2002. He was a great man and left me with lots of memories during those years. Here is a few things I remember. He would play the radio on the oldies station. He would tell the class if anyone could guess who was playing and the song name he would give him his watch. I think had to give up at least 3 or more watches. Then on day we had a sub teacher for my class and Gene was in the next room. Well the sub could sing like people do in opera's. So we talked the sub to giving us a demo. There was a huge gap in the wall where you can hear everything. Gene walked right into our class imitating the opera style singing "Don't quit your day job!". We were all cracking up and the sub was embarrassed. I also remember he had a bike horn screwed into his podium in class and would honk it at jokes. Then after highschool in 2004 he took me to the DMV to do the driving test and let me use his car so I can get my license. Which I am very thankful for him to have done that for me. I just hope that wherever he is that in heaven that hes able to hunt for the perfect deer or catching the perfect sized fish. May God and Eugene bless and watch over you Sharlene.
