Obituary for Amanda Mae King

Amanda Mae King, 38, of Alamosa, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was born
September 6, 1979, in La Jara, Colorado to Stanley and Linda (Gowey) Townsend. She was a
graduate of Alamosa High School and also attended Trinidad Junior College and Adams State
College. Amanda was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, and sister in addition to being
a wonderful caregiver for her grandfather for many years.

She loved spending time with her children, adventures, fishing, and rock collecting. She had a
huge heart and was always ready to help anyone, anytime, anyplace.

She was proceeded in death by her Mother, Linda, Grandmother, Betty Gowey, and
Grandfather, Byrl Gene (BG) Townsend.

She is survived by her husband of three months, Jerid Thistle, her children Jett and Vann King,
Grandfather, William Gowey, Grandmother, Etta Belle Townsend, Father, Stanley (Tammy)
Townsend, Brother Chad (Lisa) Townsend, Sister Katy Townsend, Stepbrothers, Matthew and
Ethan Higinbotham, and many other family and friends who loved her.

A small intimate Memorial will be held for immediate family and close friends, Saturday,
February 24, 2018, 1:00 pm at Rogers Family Mortuary with interment to follow at the Alamosa
Cemetery.
