Obituary for Howard Lee James

Howard Lee James
Howard Lee James

Born June 28, 1932

Deceased February 24, 2018

Howard was a resident of the San Luis Valley Care Center for the last twenty years. He graduated from Alamosa High School in 1954, then moved to Denver, Colorado. He sold newspapers for a living and never cared about how cold the weather was.

Howard was a very caring and happy person. He loved the Colorado Rockies Baseball team, as well as enjoyed playing Bingo.

He enjoyed collecting cans and pop tops and donating them to the local habitat.
Howard never complained about anything and was such a shining example to all he met.

Over the years his relationships with the staff members at the Care Center grew. He enjoyed the staff immensely, and the feeling was mutual with them enjoying Howard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Cecil James and Letha May Matlock James. As well as his sister, Betty Jo Hostetter.

Howard is survived by his six nieces and nephews; Terry (Gary) Depriest, Steve (Kathy) Hostetter, Patricia Hostetter, Randy Hostetter, Marty (Melody) Hostetter, Sandy Hostetter, as well as their familes.

A visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Alamosa 3rd Ward building located at 3rd and Richardson in Alamosa for 11:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M on Thursday, March 1, 2018. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M.
