Pauline Frances (Heavner) Bond’s faith became sight on March 25, 2018 when she passed from this life into Heaven. Pauline was born February 19, 1932 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Lynderman Paul and Lena Ladoris (Prather) Heavner. She married Billy J. Bond on August 20, 1951 in Kilgore, Texas. Bill and Pauline lived at Fort Hood, Texas while Bill served in the United States Army. While there, their first son, Billy, Jr. was born. After Bill completed his service, they moved to Temple, Texas where they ran a dry-cleaning service and were active members of the Temple First Church of the Nazarene. During their time in Temple, their second son, Ronald (Moe) was born. Despite their southern roots, Bill and Pauline loved the Colorado mountains. So, in 1958, they moved to Colorado and began farming in the Center and Monte Vista farming communities. After arriving in Colorado, Pauline and Bill had two daughters, Pamela and Paula.

Pauline’s faith was the most central part of her life. She received Christ as her Savior as a young girl and served him until her death. She hungered deeply for God’s Word and studied it diligently. Over the course of her life she led several Bible studies and Sunday School classes. Many were influenced and their lives impacted by her lessons. She always took time for people because she genuinely loved and cared for them. Pauline was a gifted pianist, having taught herself as a young girl. Many have been blessed by her music as she played for numerous church services, weddings and funerals. She never failed to bring a song to life with her amazing style and flair. God gifted her with a remarkable ability to make everything around her beautiful, which was a reflection of her precious soul. Her talents and gifts were evident in her elegant Christmas decorations, the stunning tables she set for a lifetime of delicious meals she prepared for whoever had the good fortune of being seated at her table, and the vibrant flowers she planted and nurtured every summer.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Bill Bond, children Billy, Jr. (Kathleen) Bond, Ronald, (Moe), (Mary) Bond, Pamela (Jan) Klecker, and Paula Bond, grandchildren Lindsey (Erin) Powis, Whitney Bond, Steven Bond, Shelley Bond, Brian Bond, Stephanie Klecker, Adam (Stephanie) Klecker, Jessica (Daniel) Godwin and great-grandchildren Owen, Quinton, Regan, and Camden Powis, Mason and Jaxon Klecker, and Little Baby Godwin coming August, 2018. Pauline is also survived by her sisters Jeannette (Eldon) Myler and Annette (Ronald) Hankins as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, she will be missed by countless friends whose life she touched with genuine Christ-like love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynderman and Lena Heavner, sister Barbara Heavner, and in-laws Joe and Mildred Bond.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista, Colorado. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10:00AM at the Valley Church of the Nazarene, Monte Vista, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in care of the funeral home office to the Rio Grande Hospital Foundation in her memory.
