Obituary for Alice Elizabeth Fringer

Longtime valley resident Alice Elizabeth Fringer, 92, passed away on April 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 17, 1925 in Bountiful, Colorado to Watson Swafford and Rudy Ann Wilson. She married Leverett Cecil Fringer on August 21, 1943 in Woodstock, Illinois. The first few years of their marriage, they lived in Illinois and worked in the factories. Upon returning to the valley, Alice worked in the food service area for the Hospital in La Jara and then focusing on raising her children and being a devoted and loving wife to Leverett. She and Leverett were Sealed for time and eternity in the Denver Temple on May 21, 1992. She was an active member of the Relief Society and was involved in the old Bountiful neighborhood club. Alice enjoyed fishing, baking and serving in any way she could.

She is survived by her children; Maxine (Larry) Smith of Manassa, Max (Mary) Fringer of Manassa, Lee (Kathy (Deceased) of Camp Verde, Arizona, Scott (Loraine Rose (Deceased) Fringer of Camp Verde, Arizona, Kathy (Joe) Pierce of Lakewood, Colorado, Patty (Carl) Richardson of Camp Verde, Arizona, Roxie (David) Chavez of La Jara, Colorado, Steve (Debbie) Fringer of Manassa, Colorado and Jeff (Mae) Fringer of Alamosa as well as 35 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren and many extended family members.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leverett Fringer, 11 siblings and 2 daughters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at the Manassa Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at the Church in Manassa and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow services in the Sanford Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the San Luis Care Center and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
