Ernest Herman Samora, 80, passed away on June 3, 2018. He was born on January 8, 1938 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Gilbert and Lola Samora. Ernest was a proud yet humble hardworking man.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jennie Samora of Monte Vista, his daughters, Terri Barbosa of Monte Vista and Pauline (Mike) Parris of Jackson, Georgia, his grandchildren, Vicente Barbosa of Monte Vista, Brandi (Nelson Fraire) Barbosa of Monte Vista, McKenzie Parris of Jackson, Georgia, Logan (Diana) Blazer of Littleton, Colorado, Jordan (Jaclyn) Barbosa of Monte Vista and Dustin Parris of Loganville, Georgia, his great grandchildren, Mariah Don Barbosa, Eli Parris and Julian Banderas, his brothers, Gil (Louise) Samora of Falcon, Colorado and David Andrew Samora of Alamosa, his uncle, Fred Archuleta and aunt, Elenor Martinez, both of Monte Vista as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his sons, Ernest John Samora (Infant), Daniel E. Samora, son-in-law Cliff Barbosa and his sisters, Carlita Rosas and Marie Garcia.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday June 7, 2018 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Vigil with recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening also at the church. Burial will follow services in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
