Monte Vista – Angelina Marquez, 75, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 23, 1941 to Antonio and Angelina Rivera in Dixon, New Mexico. She married Juan Marquez and raised six amazing children together.

Angie was an amazing stay at home wife and mother, she not only cared for her own children but also loved to care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved playing bingo as well as going camping and fishing and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Angie was a military wife for 21 years and traveled overseas with her husband and children. Angie was a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her passing will leave a hole in the heart of all of her family members and she will be greatly missed by each and every one of them.

Angie is survived by her loving husband, Juan Roberto Marquez of the family home in Monte Vista. Her children; Cecelia Vigil of Monte Vista, John (Patty) Marquez of Monte Vista, Scott (Berdi) Marquez of Monte Vista, Wanda Marquez of Leadville, Colorado and Shannon Marquez of Colorado Springs, Colorado, twenty two grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren. Her siblings; Pat (John) Schnurrenburger of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Renee Cervantez of Monte Vista. And numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Angelina Rivera. Her son, Jay Marquez, and her siblings; Sonny Rivera, Betty Gonzales, and Sarah Lazoya.

Cremation was chosen and entrusted to Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Memorial Mass will be held on December 2, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. also at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow services at Homelake Veterans Cemetery.
