Arthur  Cordova
Monte Vista resident Arthur Eloy Cordova, 74, passed away on November 28, 2016 in Monte Vista. He was born on October 8, 1942 in Taos, New Mexico to Eloy and Emily Cordova. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a foreman at the Staley Starch Plant for many years.

Arthur was a member of the Monte Vista Elk’s Lodge and the American Legion. He had a passion for running. He was an avid Bronco’s fan, enjoyed camping and fishing; he enjoyed listening to Spanish music. He enjoyed making family videos and spending time with Anita while she read from the Bible or the Watchtower. He also enjoyed going to the Kingdom Hall with Anita.

He is survived by his wife Anita Garza Cordova of Monte Vista, his daughters; April Cordova of Monte Vista and Nikki (Jonathan) Ferguson of Corpus Christi, Texas, his grandchildren; Brooke Miranda Medina, Justin Jimmy Mascarenas, Pete John Medina, Kayla Brittany Archuleta and Rico Eloy Lopez, his great grandchildren; Nayeli, Dominic, Lexus, Monet, Zoey, Jaleigh, Nevaeh, Ryder, Avah and Alana, as well as his siblings, Pauline “Lavie” (John) Velasquez of Monte Vista, Elsie Medina of Provo, Utah, Maida Garcia of Grand Junction, Colorado and Anthony (Sandra) Cordova of Pueblo West, Colorado as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lawrence Cordova.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday December 2, 2016 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. Contributions are suggested to Hospice Del Valle and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
