Condolence: During his time here, George personified the
term "gentleman." He was a great example of the best character traits of a generation of men who served their country and went right on, serving the community in ways most of us never saw.
Condolence: Sending your family my condolences. I remember "Mr. Tracey" with fondness. He totally financed my tuition and books through Adams State from 1970-74! I qualified for his Medicine Chest scholarship and never had to pay a penny for my education. If I kept up my grades, he told me he would renew the scholarship each year. What a deal! Each year I would write him a formal thank-you note, so he did know he was appreciated. Of course, all my pharmacy business also went to him. What a community supporter--and I've tried to pay it forward in my lifetime. He was sweet and unassuming. We never really had discussions, but there was a mutual relationship there. He's testament to a life well-lived and I think of him with a smile on my face. (I can only imagine what that scholarship would cost in today's dollars!).
